Why a levy again? Our district experiences an annual loss of $1,400,000 in taxes due to legislation that has decreased the amount of tangible property tax paid by local industry.
How has the district addressed this annual loss of revenue? The district has made $1,300,000 in reductions over the past few years, including eliminating administrative positions. Our employees have helped the community by taking wage freezes and taking on increased health care costs. We have refinanced our new school yielding savings to the taxpayer. We have accepted 300 open enrollment students from other districts thus increasing revenue to the school.
What’s the good news? We are rated EXCELLENT by the State of Ohio and our children excel in the classrooms, on the fields, courts and stage!
What’s the bottom line? We need for you to know that all of our prudent actions and stewardship of the tax dollar are not enough to make up the difference in the loss of revenue.
What will the levy cost the residents of the school district? $15 per month for a home of $100,000 value, $11.44 per month for residents 65 years and older
